As former President Ronald Reagan used to say, “here you go again…” William Koch, renown billionaire wine collector is suing Christie’s International Plc, the London based auction house. Koch, claims that the auction house has sold counterfeit wines for years. He goes on to state that Christie’s knows how to identify counterfeit wines.
This suit is nothing new for Koch who has filed other wine related suits. In 2006, he brought a case against German wine dealer Hardy Rodenstock. In 2007, he brought charges against the New York based auction company, Zachys and in 2008, he sued the Chicago Wine Company and the New York auction house Acker Merrall & Conduit, accusing them of selling him counterfeit wines.
